A parent of the well known Golden Delicious, these golden orbs originating from Brooks County, West Virginia in 1790 are small, round, and magical. With a truly deeply canary yellow skin, they hold crisp/sharp flavors of banana, licorice, and coriander with a sprightly balance of acidity and sugar. Grimes is absolutely delicious. Extraordinary fresh, equally so as a sauce and cider. Harvest late September.
