Heirloom Apple Varieties
Peck’s Pleasant
Thought to have originated in Rhode Island in the late 1800s. Peck’s Pleasant is highly aromatic, with a tender flesh, pleasantly flavored and ranks very good to best in quality. Peck’s Pleasant starts as apple green, becoming bright yellow with ballerina pink blush, sometimes partly deepening to ruby. An exceptional keeper, Peck’s is like a fine wine that improves with keeping. We highly recommend storing them into deep winter and waiting for the taste to reveal itself. Harvest mid-late October.
